Canon break: Normally how this is played out is that Caitlin escaped deportation through some quick thinking and quicker reflexes causing her to spend a large amount (seemingly, she lost count of how long exactly) of time trying to survive (using her few skills as a “thief” and what she learned as a barmaid became handy as well) on the empty streets of the Shanti Virus inflicted future. She has spent some time being hurt, then angry while she looked for an answer behind why she had managed to escape that world safely, but after searching for answers which never were found, she now she is just looking forward to moving on with her life now that she is out of there.
