(no subject)
I don't think I've been this excited about a new friend for a long time: Alice, of middle school friend pod, was outside the science library the other day! We both double-took, and she was on the phone, so my hug had to wait (which left me in an awkwardly suspended omg-it's-you state). Then she was in a hurry so took my hug and number and ran off. I didn't think I would ever see her again, but she emailed me - I hadn't even given her my email address. Her email was as excited as I was, sincere and awesome.
I remember Alice as being kinda the cool one in our nerdy group, very casual and a diplomat among class socials. She was a big inspiration for me to do well in school and excel in violin (much better than me at both). And she taught me a little Chinese.
I guess it seems nice to reunite with someone so long past, someone who knew you before your embarrassing stages and major mistakes. I'm kinda latching onto the idea that we could be good friends (a lack of which I have locally). I hope she's not like moving next month or some such catastrophic irony.
