Haven't been doing much worth writing about lately. Thus, I wouldn't ordinarily be writing about it NOW except people might begin to think I was dead if I didn't. :P
My mom's been making quilts for the whole family for the last couple months, and she started on mine the other night. It'll be a bit smaller than the others so I can sleep on the couch without it dragging on the floor all over the place. Anyway, here's where the weirdness comes in. Our quilts have NAMES. My mom's is Sam, my aunt's is Frasier, and I thought about having mine be Woody because it'd just be interesting to be under a woody all night but I never watched Cheers much so I don't remember what the hell Woody looked like, but figure he's probably too UGLY to sleep under. So we switched TV shows & named mine Julian, after the doctor on DS9. Most definitely NOT ugly, and a nice accent to boot. (Incidentally, the sewing machine also has a name. My mom named it Oscar because it's such a grouch, and rarely works exactly like it's supposed to.) Oh yeah, and some woman in Ohio recently ordered a quilt from her for...get this...$300. Not bad considering we worked out that one of these quilts costs something like $30 to make, and doesn't take all that long, at least for the front.
The other day I was happily mudding (I've discovered another mud which I'm not sure if I like yet but I got rather sick of all the bullshit on my other mud so I figured why not) when a menu popped up from nowhere. I looked down and discovered the cat lounging on the mouse. Then I noticed my cursor had a little hourglass thingy next to it, and after a minute lo and behold, the scanner dealy popped up saying it was warming up the lamp. Apparently the cat had managed to trigger a scan, not that it was too useful considering there was nothing in there to scan. (On a side note, even if you've scanned 20 things already, WHY does it always hafta warm up the lamp?)
I've been bumming Harry Potter books off my cousin lately, and they're pretty good. Good enough to make me read a couple chapters longer than intended and make myself stay up too late sometimes. I'm on the 4th one now, and dreading finishing it because I have NO clue what there is to read next. Probably hafta borrow some more of my aunt's mystery books that I'm not really too godawful interested in but they're there.
