Going back to livejournal

Nov 14, 2020 13:22

So, I've decided to make a triumphant return here to post my rantings and ramblings instead of using Facebook for a variety of reasons. First and foremost, I know who can read my journal here. I maintain fairly rigid controls over my friends list here, and that is no longer the case in Facebook. I can post larger posts here, break them up with lj-cut tags, tag them, search them, and in general it's just more organized. There are other reasons, but those are the most important at the moment.

If you are interested in reading my journal, feel free to email me. I'll determine which, if any, of my filters to put you in, and you can read at your heart's content. However, there are a few ground rules to follow.

1) Do not, at any point, discuss what you read in this journal unless I am present. If I bring the conversation up, that's one thing. But you have no way of knowing who can see a specific post, or why someone can't in the event I have limited their access. Do not spread my private stuff all over the world.
2) This is my journal. I will screen comments I find to be inflammatory, I will remove posters who harass me, and most importantly, I WILL POST WHATEVER I FEEL LIKE POSTING. Previously, I was told by some of my very close personal friends and family that all I ever posted was depressing, or was ranting, or whatever. Well, guess what. I use this as a forum to get such things off my chest. If you don't like it, don't read it, but don't expect to be kept up to date on what's going on in my life. General life updates that remain short will likely be posted to Facebook also.
3) There is always the possibility of more rules. Be aware of that fact.
