So. Putting a positive spin on the whole work not being work anymore.
I'm just too damn good for them.
They need more work so they're hoping I'll go bankrupt and go to them for help. Won't go bankrupt, they'll fall flat on their faces without me, and I'll stand there laughing my arse off at them.
Etc, etc.
I was looking at leaving them one day this year anyway. They just beat me to the punch. And it's giving me plenty of opportunities. I can find a better paying job in Newwie (there's one that I'll apply for when it comes up officially that will pay me near $800 a week and it's entry level), or I can bugger off up to Queensland for work (500 odd admin jobs in Brisbane versus 13 in Newwie and Maitland combined), or I can bugger off to New Zealand (houses are cheaper in comparison there), or I can completely dissappear in Mexico. :D I can also look at just relaxing for a couple of weeks before looking for work, or travelling (Norfolk Island looks quite nice for a two week stint).
And as for training the temp, when I teach her everything I know and she still doesn't get anything more than how to open the mail, they may just realised how fucked they'll be without me.
*shrugs* Their loss.
Yesterday was spent reading. Finally plowing my way through the books I've started and then put aside because I don't have the time.
Today, I went to the shops, and the escalator proceeded to dump me on my butt. Tried to stand up and my feet went out under me again (slippery shoes + slippery escalator = not such a good combination) and had a good chuckle when the people in front of me asked if I was okay. I just said I'd stay on my butt till I got to the bottom and could stand up on not moving ground again. Was funny, even at the time, but now my knees and back are sore, and the rubber things you hang on to had a bit of fun with my wrists, so they're all red and sore, but hey. They'll get better. Bought some wool so I could keep working on the blanket I'm making, then went to Woolies to get cream and chocolate to make mousse with Ben. Have made mousse and worked on blanket and am apparently going to get pizza later. Asked if I was being paid for the fuel, but I'm doubtful. :D
Anyways. Having a good weekend. Only have next week left at work, and then they get to pay me over a week on top of that for annual leave I haven't taken.
Having fun, actually feeling happy (only goes to show what a bit of stress relief [aka being fired] will do for you) and looking forward to not knowing what comes next.
Happy Easter all! May your chocolatiness be plentiful! :D
