[Fanmix] Burn Like Diamonds: a Silena Beauregard mix
This is the happy, romantic mix I should have posted for Valentine's Day! Apologies for the angst of my two previous PJO fanmixes (some shameless self-promotion right there if you haven't seen them :P) - but let's celebrate love today just because it exists, instead of because our calendars tell us too! ♥
I am not involved in the RPG over at demigod_elite and this is a fanmix, not technically a response to the character iPod challenge from ages ago... except that it kind of is. Ever since I read xinvisiblewings' Southern-boy-Charlie-jamming-to-bluegrass theory, I can't shake the notion that he introduced Silena to the joys of country music. She couldn't stand country music when they started hanging out. It was almost a deal-breaker when she discovered his Darius Rucker habit, but eventually she warmed to the genre (a little) just because she associated it with him.
Enter Taylor Swift. Silena cried the first time she heard Love Story. "I talked to your dad, go pick out a white dress" remain among her favourite song lyrics ever. Thus began her love affair with girly country pop... Hence the abudance of that genre on this fanmix - but I mean, really, as if the entire Aphrodite cabin don't break it down to Fearless every chance they get!
