A Change Of Pace

Who would have ever thought that a state that had a run-off (1991) between a former KKK Grand Wizard David Duke Wiki and a known crook Edwin Edwards, that lovable scamp would elect an Indian American into its highest position? That's right, dear readers, a state with a lot of ugly racial issues just elected America's first Indian governor, Bobby Jindal.

Unfortunately, I did not vote in this election myself (I was good about voting regularly when I was in America, but I'm afraid I haven't gotten around to sending in my overseas voter registration form.) I voted for Jindal when he ran last election (and lost narrowly), so I'm happy he won. He's intelligent, friendly, and knows how to get things done.

Regardless of Jindal's politics, however, an election like this proves that even the most backward of places can progress. And that Louisiana is as unpredictable as ever. Ahaha.
