A/N : Mea culpa, this took so long.  I’ve been busy with real world stuff and I was really sick.  Enjoy, and hopefully the next chapter won’t take me so long.

After refuelling midway on their journey, the intrepid heroes landed Professor Geng’s seaplane in the south of France where they booked a private train to Germany. Thankfully, the archaeologist had many friends in high places.  The crew of the train were discreet and completely loyal.  They would follow Geng’s instructions without batting an eyelash.

The members of this dangerous mission were too nervous to enjoy their trip; the beautiful countryside with it’s lush foliage and quaint villages, the furthest thing from their minds.  Yoochun was still under Dracula’s spell; he babbled on about his Master and the will of Ra.  This bothered Geng to no end.  What would Dracula have to do with the Egyptian God Ra?

“Perhaps the Prince is confusing Dracula with Ra,” Kyung said while helping B Bomb with the guns and ammunition.

The Block B boys were armed to the teeth; guns, knives, grenades and all sorts of weapons.  They weren’t taking any chances.

Junsu wrung his hands nervously and paced up and down the dining car while Geng and Siwon made their own preparations.

Geng looked over maps and books on local legends while Siwon put together his “monster fighting kit.”  Holy water, garlic and a cross were stuffed into a valise along with the good book.  Meanwhile, the rest of the Block B gang that wasn’t arming themselves with pistols and rifles were carving wooden stakes.

Yoochun’s eyes glowed red; he hugged his knees and rocked back and forth.  He mumbled to himself; words barely audible and recognizable; a combination of Ancient Egyptian and broken English.

“What can we do to help him?” Junsu asked Geng.

The Professor looked up from his work.

“Keep him calm.  Reassure him that everything is going to be alright.”

Junsu knelt beside his lover and buried his head in Yoochun’s lap.  For a moment, the Prince seemed lucid; his hand touched Junsu’s head; slender fingers running through his thick locks.

“I love you, Chunnie,” the Creature whispered as the Prince continued his odd behavior.

A tear trickled down Junsu’s cheek.

“It’s going to be ok,” he told his lover.

The Prince stopped rocking back and forth and spoke slowly in a monotone voice; his red eyes staring into nothingness. Everyone stopped what they were doing and listened intently to his words.

“Yes.  All will be well. The Master has foretold it. We monsters shall inherit this world and all others shall be crushed beneath our feet.  No one can stop us now.”

The heroic adventurers looked at each other in silence.  Zico swallowed hard, his gang staring at him.  Siwon loosened his collar and resisted the urge to cross himself.  Geng cleared his throat and began to speak, his words addressed to the Prince who seemed to be aware of his surroundings, but still very much under Dracula’s enchantment.

“Can you tell us more, Prince?”

The Mummy turned his head in the direction of the Professor.

“All will be revealed when we have reached our destination.  Do not bother with your weapons.  They are useless against the power of a God.”

Geng sighed.

“I’m looking forward to meeting your God, and this Master as well.”

Yoochun narrowed his eyes at the Professor.

“It would be best not to mock, Ra.  The Master says you are weak; you cannot hope to fight against him and the others.”

The Block B gang whispered amongst themselves.

“There are other monsters?”

Yoochun nodded his head slowly.

“You shall see,” he spoke softly.  “You shall see.”

His eyes stopped glowing and he pitched forward in his seat, Junsu catching him before he could fall.

“He’s passed out,” Taeil said after helping Junsu carry the limp body of the Prince to a couch, U Kwon covering him with a blanket.

“Keep an eye on him,” Geng spoke with authority.  “Zico, have your boys look after him; set up a watch.  Junsu, get some sleep.  The Reverend and I have some planning to do.”

All obeyed the Professor’s words; except Junsu.

“I need water,” he told his companions.  “Where can I get water; lots of it? I’ve been too long without it and I feel weak.”

Zico whispered in Geng’s ear.

“There might be a water tower on route. Check with the engineer.  It’s all I can think of unless we pass by a pond or stream.”

Geng nodded and made his way forward to the engineer.  Within moments he returned.

“There’s a small lake not far from here.  We’ll stop, but not for long, you understand, don’t you?”

Junsu bowed deeply and thanked the professor profusely.  They all knew that Junsu would be of no use to them if he was weak.  Seeing Yoochun in his hypnotic state wasn’t helping the creature either.

After a few minutes, the engineer blew the whistle of the train and slowly stopped the engine.

“Only a few minutes, now,” Geng told Junsu.  “This is not a legal stop and we don’t want to raise suspicion with the local authorities.”

Junsu bowed again and ran out, PO and Jaehyo accompanying him.  They stood watch with rifles as The Creature stripped himself of his human clothes.  He waded cautiously into the small lake, his body changing; colorful scales shining in the moonlight.   He disappeared beneath the surface, his sleek body gliding through the murky waters.  He took no joy in this swim; he was there to hydrate himself and strengthen his body.  There would be plenty of time to frolic in more pleasant waters when this business was over.  The engineer pulled the cord on his whistle signalling it was time to go.  Junsu heard the sound with his excellent hearing and resurfaced, swimming quickly to the shore; gills disappearing along with his other amphibian features.  He dressed in haste; running after his companions who waved to the engineer.  The train slowly started; hissing as the wheels began to turn.  It chugged along until it reached it’s full head of steam.

Junsu made his way back to the dining car where Yoochun was still fast asleep.  He thanked everyone and apologized for the inconvenience.  They all nodded and smiled, though the smiles were forced; their future was uncertain and mostly likely, a bleak one, for they faced a monster known for his foul deeds for centuries, and even worse, the wrath of an ancient God of immense power.

Junsu curled up in a chair next to his lover and sighed.  He stared out the window; the sound of the wheels upon the tracks making him sleepy.  His eyes finally closed and he dreamed; dreamed of warmer days and a happier time when things were simpler and his beautiful prince loved him deeply.
