Given the circumstances, fasting at a time like this may not be a smart idea. The Hibou could throw something dangerous our way, and people won't have enough strength to defend themselves.
I'm not the best cook in the world, but here are some ingredients in case you want to try out cockroaches. They're honestly not as bad as they look!
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Depending on the size and/or type of cockroaches, you can make meals out of them. Your best bet is to deep-fry them, so that they become crunchy. Some honey sauce wouldn't hurt either! Under no circumstances must you try and eat them alive, however. It comes best in a stir-fry with vegetables, such as carrots.
Suggested recipe:
- 6-12 cockroaches, depending on size.
Marinade:
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
Sauce:
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 2 teaspoons dark soy sauce
- 4 tablespoons beef broth
- 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
Other:
- 8 ounces fresh egg noodles or Italian spaghetti
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 large carrot, chopped into 1/2-inch pieces
- 1/2 cup chopped cabbage, such as Napa
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 4 tablespoons oil for stir-frying, or as needed
Snack, Appetizer
For a snack, or even an appetizer, a chocolate covering is very tasty (and leaves out the bitter aftertaste of the crunchy interior).
Ingredients for the Sauce in which to cover them:
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup whipping cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
...Master, I've made you some as well.
