CANON OVERVIEW

CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR BEFORE CRISIS AND CRISIS CORE
Note: a lot of the BC names will have various spellings since we're going off fan translations. So it's like that whole Ravi/Lavi/Rabi/Labi of D.Gray-man deal. However Elfe/Felicia is suppose to have two names, so don't worry about how those two can possibly be similar.
- Back story is one giant question mark. Some point before the series, he got those funky tattoos that have meaning to him (only he knows what they mean though). He also has a weird accent. It's hinted that he made a bad call somewhere here (first of many) that he regrets and possibly triggered his fear of failure.
- Gets recruited by the Turks when he was a teenager. Maybe he didn't have cable.
- Meets Rude. Said that he found Reno "erratic" but they hit if off anyway and became partners. Tells Reno to let go of the past. Reno takes that as don't think about the past, unless you get a chance to change it - then do it.
- They make great partners and become the Turks with the best success record. Reno is said to be the fastest of the Turks.
- Meets Rod when Rod tries to steal a motorcycle from Shinra. Reno catches him and beats the living shit out of him, but lets him live. Veld is impressed with Rod's hand to hand abilities (or the fact he survived, w/e), he is recruited into the Turks.
- BC events start. Wutai war ends and the hidden conflict between Turks and old AVALANCHE begin. Reno is unable to defeat the AVALANCHE second in command (Shears/Sears) by himself, and gets saved by a rookie. Stuff happens, President is an asshat, etc etc. And while Reno couldn't beat Shears, he was able to defeat a vast amount of AVALANCHE troops with very little help (only a few Shinra troops that end up dead themselves), proving that anonymous henchmen have no chance at life.
- Travels with Rude and a rookie to Costa De Sol to recruit more SOLDIER potentials. AVALANCHE causes trouble, stuff happens. Rude decides to get payback against Shears for Reno. Reno follows knowing his partner is doing something stupid, they beat Shears together.
- Events of Special Episode of Reno. Reno is nearly crushed to death by elevator, fights off the clones and robots that are shown in CC, and chases Hollander (NO ONE CAN CATCH THE FAT MAN). Nearly quits Turks to become a SOLDIER because the work Turks do makes him angry, and SOLDIER seems like better/more exciting work to him. Ends up staying for Rude and his other friends at Turks.
- BC stuff continues to happen. Heidegger is an idiot everyone hates, Veld/Verdot is badass, Reno stalks Rude on a date who turns out to be a spy. Right Reno, right. I'LL ADD TO THIS MORE AFTER I REREAD BC KAY?
- OH SHI- NIBELHEIM. Reno is sent as first response to initially save survivors but whoops - turns out Hojo just wanted them for experiments. Veld protects the rest of the Turks from the worst part of the job. EVEN SO, RENO'S ICONIC JADED CYNICISM IS BORN.
- Corel Reactor Incident. Pretty much AVALANCHE's attempt to wipe out the Turks with help. Veld finds out the AVALANCHE leader is his long lost daughter, Elfe/Felicia, and leaves Turks to go after her. One of the younger Turks is caught in the reactor explosion with Shears, and they save his life and refuse to let him die. Stuff happens, that Turk ends up in a coma for three years. Shinra not pleased, they destroy Corel to blame them and order the Turks to kill Veld.
- Three years later, Reno and another Turk end up at Cosmos Canyon on a mission. They come across Bugenhagen, who thought they were looking for Veld. He informs them that Elfe has a summon materia called Zirconiaide embedded in her that is not only killing her, but if used would wipe out life on the planet. They thank him for the information by stealing his cat-thing.
- BC/CC CROSSOVER~ Zack and Cloud escape from ShinRa manor. Turks are sent after him, Cissnei let him escape - Reno probably doesn't know this. They continue their search for them for a really long time, and Reno is the one least willing to do it. His exact reasons why are unknown (but you can guess since finding Zack would probably mean sending him back to be an experiment which Reno was against in Nibelheim >>), but you do know he scoffs at the idea of delivering 88 letters from Aerith to him. OH BTW - they fail in finding him and Zack dies. *SOOOOB*
- BC STUFF. Shit hits the fan and lots of stuff happens. Yuff really needs to reread these chapters. Pretty much one of the Turks find Veld, and instead of killing him decide to help him stop that summon from happening and save his daughter. Reno knows going against Shinra's orders will probably mean his death, but he's willing to do it for Turks. They are also using Rufus as a hostage, hurhurhur.
- Also Shalua Rui? Is a bitch. An angry angry bitch. BUT ANYWAY - One of the younger Turks go to the Corel Prison to investigate why AVALANCHE is heading there. Stuff happens that doesn't involve Reno but with Shalua. They run into Veld again, but the meeting is cut shot by OH SHI- Scarlet and a large group of troops. The younger Turk is horribly beaten by the troops, and Veld is taken to be held captive and used as bait for the other Turks so they can be killed. Tseng finds the wounded Turk that was left out in the desert to die, and contacts Reno, both agreeing that they need to get dadd- Veld back.
- The Turks split up and Reno goes with Tseng and Rude to find Veld. Tseng makes a deal with Rufus who gives them the info on where Veld is, which is the Midgar city dump. They take out a lot of guards, but Reno and Rude get shot. Tseng saves the day by taking out the rest of the guards
- Manages to recover from being...shot really quickly. Finds Veld, get yelled at Veld for being stupid and throwing away his life by saving him but he's goes "lol w/e idc" along with the other two.
- They make their way to outside of Midgar and meet up with Elfe. But then they get caught by Shinra troops, oh shi-
- Thanks to Rufus, the President informs the troops to spare the Turks as long as they kill Veld and Elfe. Reno very vocally refuses and is ready to die.
- But Tseng has other plans and shoots both Veld and Elfe in front of Reno and Rude. Veld's final words are that Tseng did the right thing.
- Reno goes into Heroic BSOD. Tseng, being the great friend he is, leaves the guy in the Midgar wasteland to find his own way back.
- He manages to reboot himself after awhile, but just in time to see the area that the rest of the Turks were fighting Zirconiaide at get destroyed, essentially convincing him that every Turk besides himself, Rude and Tseng are dead.
- After everything else, this sends Reno into another round of Heroic BSOD, and eventually into his own Despair Event Horizon Line.
- Eventually after that, he returns to Shinra. DETAILS FORTHCOMING SINCE ITS STILL BE BEING TRANSLATED.
- FFVII. FINALLY. Sector 1 Reactor gets blown up. By a new cell of AVALANCHE. Well shit.
- For some reason Reno is sent after Aerith instead of Tseng, and with Shinra troops. He meets Cloud, and notes his mako eyes. He also steps on the flowers and then tells the troops not to. Stuff happens, Aerith and Cloud get away.
- To get rid of AVALANCHE, the President and Heidegger decide to destroy the sector that their hideout is in (Sector 7), and blame AVALANCHE for the attack. They send Reno to do it, and he succeeds killing thousands of people. However due to a information leak, AVALANCHE is there and beats the shit out of him (3 against 1, honestly). He jumps off the pillar and ends up in a hospital for awhile.
- They also had a replacement all lined up, named Elena. She is brought into the Turks, and it begs the question if his job was suppose to be a suicide mission or not.
- Reno is finally allowed back on duty and he has the lamest attempt at payback ever. He also gossips about Turks and AVALANCHE. RUDE LIKES TIFA - my muse hates me for making him forget that one.
- WUTAI. Reno, Rude and Elena get a day off and decide to spend it at Wutai. But AVALANCHE shows up there because Yuffie had stolen their materia. Elena wants to fight them, Reno refuses. Some troops show up with information that someone they are looking for is here, and they want Turks for back up. Elena wants to help, Reno refuses. Elena runs off in a huff and ends up getting kidnap by Don Conero. Oh shi-
- After she gets kidnapped, Reno and Rude go to work. They call a temporary truce with AVALANCHE (since Conero has Yuffie too), and they seem to work side by side to find the guy. AVALANCHE kills the guy's pet Rapps (or is it Apps?), and Rude and Reno step in when Conero threatens to kill the girls. Rude knocks him to where he's holding onto a cliff, and Reno crushes his hand so he drops to his death after he said why it's bad to mess with Turks. AND NEITHER OF THEM WERE SOBER.
- Tseng goes to the Temple of the Ancients on a mission, and gets stabbed by Sephiroth. He survives but is put into hospitalization. In the mean time, Reno is promoted to temporary leader of the Turks.
- Aerith gets stabbed to death. Shit.
- Sephiroth obtains the Black Materia and summons Meteor. Shiiiit.
- Crap with the Large Materia that I don't really remember. Reno ends up at the bottom of the ocean floor TWICE. His life sucks.
- Diamon WEAPON attacks Midgar. Stuff happens. Reno, Rude and Elena are ordered to go kill Cloud. Reno breaks the order and walks away from it all. Stuff happens, Shinra is pretty much gone.
- VII/BC CROSSOVER: Meteor. While AVALANCHE go to fight Sephiroth in the Northern crater, the Turks are revealed to be evacuating Midgar (since that's where Meteor is suppose to hit). During this time - Tseng, Rude, Reno and Elena are reunited with Veld and the other Turks.
- Holy and the Lifestream step in and save the day from Meteor. However Midgar is pretty much demolished in the process. RENO WAS THERE WHEN IT HAPPENED. HIS LIFE SUCKS LIKE THAT.
END OF FFVII
- Over the next two years, the world starts to rebuild from Shinra collapsing and Midgar being destroyed. However there is the drawback of Geostigma - a fatal disease that started appearing shortly after Meteor.
- Eventually Rufus turns up and four of the Turks (Tseng, Reno, Rude and Elena) go back to work for him. This time they are trying to fix up the damage that has been done to the world. The other Turks are assume to have gone back into hiding (but it's never clearly revealed). Their base of operations is Healin Lodge, a sanatorium north of Midgar and Edge.
- Two years after Meteor - Tseng, Elena, Rude and Reno are sent to the northern crater to see if they can find something. They find Jenova's head, and then the Remnants. Tseng and Elena get captured while Reno and Rude escapes with Jenova.
- Rude and Reno look for Elena and Tseng, but no such luck.
- They decide to call Cloud for help. Cloud declines :(
- Stuff happens, Reno and Rude find Tifa and Cloud unconscious in Aerith's church (how they knew to go there, WHO KNOWS). Carry them back to Edge. Cloud is heavy >:(
- Notices that the kids that live with Tifa are gone. Ask around town with Rude, find that they got taken to the Forgotten Capital by Remnants.
- Cloud decides to tell Reno and Rude to go help the kids. Tifa bitches out Cloud and Reno declines :( Cloud gets off his emo ass and goes to help the kids. And no, I have no idea how Cloud got to another continent via MOTORCYCLE.
