For my own easy reference, a complete list of the plays the Teikoku Kagekidan has put on, what they were based on (where not obvious), and Maria's role in them (if any).

Ai wa Daiya (based on Konjiki-Yasha) - Tomiyama
Ai Yue ni (based on Rose of Versailles) - Andre
Alice in Wonderland - White Rabbit
Alice Through the Looking Glass
Arabia no Bara - Prince Tattan
Benitokage (based on
Kurotokage -- haha, Sumire's role was originally played by a man in drag?) - Detective Oo'oka (movie version only)
Benten Kouzou (based on Shiranami Gonin Otoko) - Nippon Daemon
Cinderella - the Prince
Comedy King Lear - Phillips ((who the hell is that?))
Dracula
Duel in the Wilderness (apparently based on Western movie called Duel - can't find any info about it) - "gunfighter with Winchester rifle"
Hatoba no Marie (based on enka song of same title) - Marie ((how the hell would you turn this song into a play?))
Hebi Onna Kaen no Jigoku (based on Onna Goroshi Abura no Jigoku)
Kaguya-hime
Kaijin Bessou - Prince (Minister in movie version)
Kunisada Chushingura
Legend of Yang Kuei-Fei
Les Miserables - Valjean ((also lol we can has random Valjean/Fantine tragic romantic subplot. What. I guess it's just not a TeiGeki play if we can't somehow make Maria and Sakura do a romantic duet!))
Little Red Riding Hood
Little Women - Meg (Not in second version, fortunately. lol what.)
Lupin vs. Holmes: The Phantom of London Bridge - Holmes
Moeyo Ryoma (based on novel Moeyo Ken)
My Fair Lady - Henry Higgins
Ooedo Hijou

Sherlock Holmes - Holmes
Shounen Red (radio play series) - Skull X
Sleeping Beauty
Snow White
Suor Angelica (based on
opera of same name)
Susano-o no Orochi Taiji
Takekurabe (based on
novel of same title)
Tanabata Densetsu
The Great Dinosaur Island
The Happy Prince - Prince
The Blue Bird - Queen of the Forest
The Merchant of Venice
The Three Musketeers - D'Artagnan
Third Heaven (based on movie
Seventh Heaven) - Chico
Three Little Pigs
Thumbelina
Tsubaki-hime no Yuu (based on Lady of the Camellias) - Armand
Tsuru no Ongaeshi
Ushiwakamaru - Kurama Tengu
Vampire Carmilla (based on novel Carmilla)
Wings (based on
movie of the same name) - Aran
In conclusion, the plays are as anachronistic as everything else in the series (we can perform plays which won't be written for thirty or forty more years!), and whoever made the casting decisions was often high while doing so. \o/ I love my canon.
