The alarm clock went off somewhere near his head, and Dean grunted under the covers he currently had pulled up to his ears. He waited for Sam to hit the snooze so they could catch some more sleep, but silence never came.
Dammit, Sam was probably too hungover to even notice the fact that a piece of crap Celine Dion song was currently screeching in their ears.
He sighed and tossed back his covers. "Dammit, Sam, wake your drunk ass up," he groaned as he rolled over.
As his hand hit the snooze, he suddenly realized that Sam wasn't in the bed across from his. Actually, the bed looked exactly the same from the night before. Dean had passed out at some point, but he had assumed that Sam wouldn't be out too long, even with Buffy.
This was just fucking great. He had slacked off this one time and now his brother was missing in the middle of Devilsgatesville with an overemotional Slayer in tow. Who knew what kind of trouble those two could have gotten into, and if they were both as drunk as Sam had been the night before, they wouldn't be on their game if they were attacked.
He gave an agitated sigh as he grabbed his cell from his nightstand and dialed Sam's number.
Sam's internal clock--the one that always seemed to be set for 9am--clicked on and he stirred slightly as not to wake Buffy, who was currently tucked up next to him, using his arm as a pillow.
He smiled down at her as he remembered their night out, drinking in some hole in the wall country bar and telling each other things they had kept hidden for years. After everything, it seemed appropriate that they would end up sharing a bed. Nothing had happened, both still a bit hesitant about crossing that line, but Sam honestly had just enjoyed the company. Enjoyed feeling her body pressed up against his cause it reminded him that he was alive.
He closed his eyes, trying to doze off again when he heard the familiar ring (Metallica's Enter Sandman) for Dean. He glanced over at the nightstand on the other side of Buffy and wondered if there was anyway he could actually lean over her and answer it without waking her up.
