wow. that was.. a very unexpected reaction from arthur. but one that makes sense -kind of.
it's so sweet that his feelings for merlin si so strong that he would do anything to make sure that merlin is safe -including killing his own father.
btw, did u jus imply that uther had killed or at least do something with gwen, morgana and gaius? (i'v only watchd the first season, so ive no idea what happens in the next ones^^)

Oh, sorry, I didn't think about warning for more than the current series, my bad.
This piece probably makes more sense if you've seen series 2.
I'll say this to put your mind at ease- as far as I know having only seen the first 3 eps of S3 none of them are dead. The Gwen thing I was referring to was actually in S1, 1x03 (and gods help me for knowing that from memory, lol), when Uther orders her put to death after her father recovers from the illness.
