Legend of Zelda'ers, anyone!? I don't have any IRL friends who are obsessed with all the games as I am. I've played nearly all of them, so just some discussion!
Yo! But I'm a terrible Zelda fan -- I love me some Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask/Wind Waker, but I am ass at the handheld games, Twilight Princess failed to grab me (the side quests were fun tho), and don't even get me started on Skyward Sword.
oh heck.. things are going down in here. I'm too much of a Zelda fan! OoT is probably my favorite game overall, just because it was the first I played, and then MM was just... plain difficult. I remember giving up at one part because I couldn't figure it out. XD And WW totally took a while, but it was great! :)
Aw... TP was one of my favorite games... maybe because of Midna? I thought the plot was pretty good, not to mention the dungeons were engaging.. but I guess it's all perspective!
and Skyward sword! "dont even get me started" in a good or bad way? O.O
OoT was my childhood <3 Plus OoT and MM are excellent to marathon with friends during sleepovers. WW definitely suffered from "find a map to find a chest to find ANOTHER map!" but I love all it's other elements. :D
Haha I respect your opinion! Midna is awesome, and her interactions with Link are amazing. Also, the environments looked great (except for the water temple, bleh. Salmon coloured and bland). I just never really got into the game itself? I haven't beat it, I got too frustrated trying to retrieve the Sol sphere from that floating hand, in the Twilit World.
Also, it really bothers me that the game was so much more about Link and Midna, than it was about Zelda. I mean, I get she has to be kidnapped, but come on. She had no presence in that game.
Re: Skyward Sword -- in a bad way, definitely! I have a lot of strong feelings towards that game, all of them negative.
ohhh! I totally get you! OoT and MM just kinda... I could replay those forever. And WW... oh gosh... I remember quitting at one point because i thought it would never end XD
and ohhh! you should finish TP! I remember that Sol part like it was yesterday. Talk about losing my voice, it was around midnight too and I wouldn't stop screaming. while "AHHHHHHHH!"ing, I actually got through the entire Sol part fairly quickly, but I'm really good with the bow & arrows, so it was real quick for me to get the hand to drop the Sol sphere whenever I dropped it..
and really? Skyward Sword... I didn't think it was that bad. I mean, the gameplay was definitely more difficult, and the plot wasn't the greatest... but it definitely explained a whole bunch, and I thought it was nice how they focused on Zelda for once.. what'd you find that was wrong?
Aha I know I should finish Twilight Princess! But I'm thinking of just finding a Let's Play, so someone else does it for me. :P I am so bad at that part, I get freaked out and then frustrated.
I dunno, I thought Skyward Sword was just... Bleh. I hated the look, the script, the character designs... Oh, and the gameplay is needlessly frustrating. I hate motion controls, I am terrible at them, so I don't think I'd ever play through the game myself.
Me, too. I got really angry at the game earlier because I was trying to get the Hylian Shield, and I got to battle 8 and it was the freaking Imprisoned, who had ONE MORE HIT and then he would have died, but who got to the temple. -_-;;;
I loved the game other than those frustrating bits.. but the frustrating parts for me were only parts where I just couldn't beat an enemy, which only upped the challenge.
You know what I hate? The Silent Realm. With a burning passion. OMFG. But the entire of idea of that realm was increasingly awesome..
I actually had no problems with the silent realms, which made me feel good, but then again, I struggled supremely with the stupidest stuff, so it kind of balanced off. Hahaha.
I feel like going back to a Zelda without using the wiimote will take a bit of work, but I really want to replay LTTP after this.
I didn't have much trouble with them, but they freaked me out. Very much.
Yeah, the first time I went to play OoT after TP was crazy difficult, but recently I've been cycling between my 3rd OoT play, 2nd MM, 2nd WW, 3 TP, and 2 SS, so switching between controllers isn't hard for me anymore!
I'm in the middle of Skyward Sword and loving it so far. However, so far, no Zelda story has been able to rival Windwaker. Windwaker has hands down the best Zelda story. I'm also playing Ocarina on the 3DS, lots of Zelda going around. But yeah, the combat on Skyward Sword is insanely fun. I think Skyward Sword may be the funnest Zelda in the entire series. I am anxious to see where the story is headed. I doubt it'll outdo Windwaker, though.
Also, I feel Twilight Princess got a lot of flack for no reason. It's a great game. I played the Cube version a couple times, just picked up the Wii version not too long ago.
ohhh I loved Wind Waker too, but obviously it confused me until the end XD for me, the best plots were... OoT and TP!
Skyward Sword is great too! I really loved it! :) The gameplay was challenging at first, but once I got a hang of it, it was great!!! the plot's pretty good too! I won't say more, because I'll probably end up spoiling something XD
TP on Wii was better than on GC, in my opinion. Just because of the gameplay! :)
