I went to the midnight release here in Australia 9 hours ago and picked up my XBox Console. There was only five or so people that walked away from my store with one but now I see the consoles selling on eBay for ridiculous amount of money so I can so glad I pre-ordered.

Halo 4 was all we talked about yesterday at work lol its good being in a nerdy location. One of the guys text me at 6:30AM saying they just completed it on Legendary with 4 other people lanning. Knowing my luck with how long it took me to complete Halo 3 because of one issue after another (power outage without save, RRoD, corrupt data), I expect completion of the game for me in a year XDDD

I'm currently waiting in line in my small TX city. The line wraps well around the corner now, and more people are arriving by the minute. We're right at 1 hour away!

Is gaming very big in Australia? I know here in the States, over 70% of households are gaming households. And the reports of 343's launching exploits in Europe have been pretty epic, but we don't hear much about that kind of stuff from you guys.

Now that's my kind of work environment! :D I'm lucky that a couple of my cube mates in the office are gamers, but they're still not as erm... dedicated as I am.

Good luck with the game, though! Hopefully it's not so unlucky an experience this time around!

As an overall, it's not really that big over here. I work for an ISP and I would say that only 20% of the staff are gamers and thats not including hardcore ones, this is even casual. That's picking up now with the younger generation though, the most devices that people have the more households are getting gaming devices.

We didn't have any amazing launches here though :( The local one I went to only gave way some XBL Gold subscriptions and some lanyards.

omg I hope the experience isn't as bad this time too lol but the XBox is damn sexy I can tell you that.

Man, I have really hopped on board the Halo 4 train, lol. I wasn't even going to get it, and now I have a copy reserved and waiting for a midnight pickup. The Penny Arcade Report review sealed the deal for me.

I haven't played a Halo since 3, so I will probably scale down from my usual Legendary and go Heroic, lol

The last and only Halo game I played was the first because there was a PC version that was popular at the time. It's definately one of the better reasons for me to get a Xbox but I'm not going down that this late in the game.

I'm the exact same on the console thing, except for me, it's the PS3. I always intended to but one, but now they're talking about the Orbis (or whatever they're calling it now) next year, so...... I do miss PS, though. I was originally a PS chick. -Until Halo came along, that is. ;D

I think this generation in particular was better for the Xbox but I don't regret not having one except for 3 games and one of those is XBLA game, the rest however can be played on a PS3 or Decent grade PC.

Never played Halo but I WANT IT. I dunno why. But this'll be interesting. I've played other FPSes though.

I haven't reserved a copy, so I dunno when I'll get it. Midnight launch (which is basically RIGHT NOW) is already out of the question.

Also I like that Jennifer Hale is Commander Palmer.

i don't play halo (i did occasionally play the first one in high school with friends) but i took my brother to the midnight release last night at our local mall. it was a lot of fun! they had free pizza and mountain dew (lol) and had the game out for everyone to play. he played twice and got 2nd place both times.

i was only able to reserve the regular copy cause i went like 2 weeks ago and the limited edition was all taken up. he got a bunch of codes for free skins and stuff so he was really happy with that.

eta: here's a pic of him in the car afterward :D

1. No midnight launch for me. I'd have to travel pretty far to attend one, and I'm not that interested to start with. I'm pretty solitary when it comes to gaming ( ... )
