Obligatory Forward Unto Dawn Post

Today's episode of FUD was the last, and with it, the immediate events leading up to Halo 4 have been set! I know I'm not the only one who watched it here, and I can't be the only one who's ridiculously excited!

If you somehow missed it... LINKAGE

I knew Chyler was gonna die. :( Still wish she hadn't. I am glad Orenski and Sully made it through, though. Maybe we'll get to see them again! - Also, the Halo fanatic in me is squeeing for joy at the clips we got to see of Cortana, Fred, and Kelly! Doesn't Cortana look amazing?

Tom Green was absolutely phenomenal throughout this series as Lasky. All the actors/actresses were, but he was pretty incredible. Is it messed up to compliment him on his crying? His emotions throughout were stunningly apparent; I hope this guy has a bright future ahead of him!

As much as I loved the final moments of this last part, I think my favorite episode of the series was Episode 3, for the sheer terror and panic they were able to convey at the Covenant's arrival. It's nice, especially in light of all the focus on the Forerunners through the books and Halo 4 bits and pieces, to get in some good old hate-the-Covenant story.

As a lifelong gamer, I have to say that Forward Unto Dawn is hands down the best video game-turned-movie ever. Yes, it was low budget, and that showed in the action scenes, but considering the caliber of acting, the development of characters and story, the extreme attention to detail and setting, the astonishing graphics, and throwbacks to the books, dudes! This movie/series was so in tune with the game of its origins. No pesky Hollywood "we're gonna do this better!" garbage: just plain sticking to the universe and bringing Halo to the screen through a completely new medium.

I had my doubts in the months lead up to FUD, but they nailed this! - Not just nailed; completely surpassed and far exceeded all expectations!

And with all the reviews that hit the interwebs yesterday for the game, is anyone still questioning whether 343 Industries is the right team to handle Halo now? Only 3.5 days until we officially find out!!!
