I've been managing my own game shop for six years now, and it really gives me an insider look at the whole industry. I think that's the main thing that sets me apart from others. Games are my passion and my business. It's what I do. Plus I get E3 access every year and can post funny pictures of your favorite studio executives passed out drunk in places they shouldn't be.
As far as what direction I'd like to see the community go in, it really needs to be a front-runner for gaming articles and announcements, but I'd love to see a whole gaming network spring from it too. Something modeled after Tim Buckley's CAD guild comes to mind.
Another thing I think would be cool is if we had a 'game of the month,' something that we could put forth for the whole community to play, kind of like a book club.
