I'm always terrified of this. I remember one time I was laying in bed after hearing a knock on my door and I was home alone and I knew it wasn't anyone in my family so I didn't answer all the sudden someone was peeking into my window. I've never jumped out of my bed so fast. Then the person went to my back door and tried to open it. Thankfully they went away, but I was still scared lol.

I know I am way late in replying to this, but something similar happened to me. My parents were out of town for the weekend, and at about 3:30 a.m., someone knocked on the front door. Hard. I was terrified. I had no idea what to do. I grabbed the phone, blockaded the door to my room, and sat in the bed with the light on and the phone in my hand until the sun came up. I was on the second floor, so luckily no one peeked in my window ( D: ), but they did knock again. I have no idea what someone would have wanted, and because I was blockaded in my room, I couldn't tell if they tried the handle or not, but it was seriously terrifying. I'm glad you are okay.
