Haunted Hotels

Hello, I lurk here occasionally and was just wondering if anyone has heard stories been involved with haunted hotels.

I guess I'll tell my story.

Last summer my sister was moving back to Atlanta, GA from Dublin, Ireland (and then moved to New York) and my family decided to go help her get settled and flew to Georgia. On the weekend we decided to go to Charleston, South Carolina. We stayed at the Embassy Suites, which used to be the old Citadel.

My family turned out getting a hotel room with no windows, which we said was okay since we weren't planning to be in our hotel room very often. On the first night I was thinking how I could see there be ghost in this room. Now the sleeping arrangements was that my dad got his own bed, my sister and I were sharing all in the same room, and my mom was on the pull out couch.

I was trying to fall asleep because once my dad falls asleep he starts snoring and I'm unable to go to sleep. My dad was on his bed doing a crossword puzzle, my sister was reading, and my mom was in the other room doing whatever she was doing. I felt this pressure on my arm, like someone was pushing down on me just to sort of let me know it was there. It didn't seem threatening or evil. I looked around and everyone was still doing their thing. I shrug it off, and exactly at midnight the TV turns on. Half an hour later the phone rings and it was a wake up call. It was pretty calm for the rest of the night.

In the morning my parents complained about the wake up call, so they completely wiped out all the scheduled wake up calls for the rest of our trip. That night we got another wake up call at like 3 AM.

My parents were pissed, and complained and we ended up getting a free night, but my sister also looked online and found a book that talked about the ghost of the Citadel. Which you can read about here. It's called 'The Last Cadet'.

So, have you ever experienced anything odd in a hotel?

personal experiences, ghosts / spirits
