I'm a bit suprised he didn't shoot his brains out.

If he had been alone? That was going to happen.
Think that why Sam made him promised to go to Lisa, you know. Just to make sure he wasn't going to do something stupid.

Then again. Dean will look good being a Zombie too.

*I just dont have boundaries with him anymore*

Not exactly.

In the episodes Bugs, he stated that if he lived a "normal" life, he'd shoot his brains out.

Maybe during that time (season 1) he would have, but during the past few seasons, he talked about wanting to stop hunting.

So he's probably enjoying it now.

Dean's a macho guy and he always said he preferred the life he has now opposed to the life that was considered normal, but Dean is notorious for lying through his teeth about what he really wants. A hunter's life has only had Dean lose the people he loved, so if Sam or John had ever once asked him, "Hey, can we just stop here and relax and be normal?" he might well have.

But no one had ever asked Dean what he wanted, so he takes what he has and that's his family, who are hunters and were determined to get the job (killing ol' Yellow Eyes) done. He's literally gone to hell and back following that route. But it's as early as season two that Dean claims that he's "tired of it" and wants to stop. So it's really no small wonder that what Dean thought the last thing his brother asked of him was to live a normal life. Have a home, a family, and hopefully won't lose anything to the monsters in the dark.

Except as we know. Lol. Season 6 and the Winchester curse definitely will have something to say about that. Haha.
