Remember, it’s not the Winchesters who are famous hunters, it’s the Campbells. And we are saying that the Campbells are part of a time-line of hunters that have been there since the country’s origins. As Sera put it, they were hacking heads of vampires on the Mayflower. For Sam and Dean to really tap into a family history, which they never knew they had and again never really investigated before, is pretty interesting to us.

This sounds cool!

I think it's safe to say that the Winchesters are famous now - if not in the human world, definitely in the supernatural world. But even most hunters seem to know about Dean and Sam and what they did, and John made a pretty good name for himself too. If the Cambells were so famous, I think that Dean and Sam would have heard SOMETHING about that and that their mom was a hunter and had hunter parents wouldn't have surprised them at all.

What is this. Stop making shit up, guys.

No really, the Campbell's are the famous ones? Really? That's why we heard SOOOO much about them... oh.

We have had so many creature episodes but we haven’t actually explained where they came from

Like!

Yeah haaha I just ranted about this in the comment thread above. Dean and Sam would have heard about them and made some sort of connection to their mom WAY WAY before the show "started". Especially since Sam does all that research and shit. I mean, come onnnn.

I'M ESSITED FOR MOTWs!!!

And on the very slim chance they didn't connect that Mary was part of those Campbells... they would have still heard about them or I don't know talked about them on the show. After all they were part of the hunters circle, they must have run into someone trying to be as good as those super, amazing, unbelievably awesome Campbells!! It just doesn't ring true for me, with the last 5 years.

Sames!!

Yeah, mte. That would have been more of a season 2 or even 3 revelation, not 5 years down the road.

Season 6 is monster origins? Like how and why do all these legendary creatures actually exist?

Well. This sounds pretty awesome

You know what, maybe it won't be so bad after all. I really like when they go back and explore the origins of things and the family angle is really interesting and I, personally, would love to see the origin of the family of hunters and what happened to make them get into hunting in the first place.
