HE HAZ ALSO A ONE-PAGE ARTICLE IN IT:
- I can do anything all by myself. I've come to this season with that faith. -
During this summer, for the first time Takahiko went overseas to train all by himself. With the bitter lessons in the Olympics he's decided to stand on his own feet.
Finished up the prep summer for developing confidence in his performance, Taka is going to challenge the world.
As usual, bear with my poorly done translation people. I hope most of it makes sense >_<
HERE WE GO!
The magazine AERA Dec. 13 issue
Writer: Yoshie Noguchi
Takahiko Kozuka, until half a year ago, was a 'monochrome'. It could say, he was good but lacked the ooze, the glamour. But this season, his performance has the 'color'.
He has grown up with his grandfather who is referred to as a patriarch of figure skating in Aichi, his father, the former Olympian figure skater and his mother, also the former figure ice dancer.

It's a daily occurrence The Prince forgets to bring his costume to competitions, no big deal. Even that part of his goofiness has been loved.
Yeah, he is goofy enough to arrive at the rink only ten minutes before the practice starts!
Meanwhile, he has a reputation for his graceful, fair skating skills he learned from his father and his coach Nobuo Sato and has been proud of them himself.
That's why he was frustrated with his result in the Olympics. Even with the successful quad which he's been believing would have brought him to the top group, the low components score placed him only 8th.
The next day Takahiko said, "I don't think I have enough expressiveness or oozing aura. I have to experience lots of different things."
After that during the off season, he made overseas expeditions to Toronto all by himself for the first time. For a total of five weeks he lived there on his own, did shopping in supermarket, cooked for himself, Rollerbladed to the rink.
The thoroughbred who has been dependent on his parents finally broke away from it's enclosure and run out in the fields.
Taka has been looking for new inspirations. Kurt Browning, a superb entertainer as a skater and also his longtime idol, told him; "my expression is boring...Um yeah, he has a point."
Kurt gave him
a comical ex program full of expressions and he spent days staring his face in the mirror. Eventually he found himself not being bothered by making facial expressions.
Takahiko got a chance to train with Evgeni Plushenko, the King on ice who has won three consecutive Olympic medals. Seeing Plu performing with lots of confidence, he realized his
DOYA-GAO(a smug, showing off face) is what makes the King kingly. (OH TAKA lol) Then he decided to go for it.
Definition of DOYA-GAO:
Pretty much all the Plu faces methinks.
When his quad landed two-footed at TEB, he held up his head and had a DOYA-GAO to claim his success to the judges.
Taka thinks he's learned how to grab the whole place.
He makes
onigiri himself to eat before his competitions. Until last season, his mum made them for him. It becomes his ritual for being fully self-responsible and it's working great.(HAHAHA HOW CUTE TAKA-CHAN)
He will challenge the GPF crown in China with his two GP titles and the second highest FS score EVA!
YES TAKA-CHAN! HE IS COMING TO YOU WITH DOYA-GAO WATCH OUT~
