We thought one of these might be in order.
Again, as a general rule: this is not the place for a stan war. People all have opinions & if you disagree, kindly scroll past instead of being all "FFFFFFUUUUUU BITCH I HOPE U DIE".
WHAT ELSE?
• Don't lecture or argue at length about the ~tone~ of _skating. This goes for both sides of the "SRS BSNS" argument (ie. 'people are so mean here!' VS 'FFUU THIS IS NOT SRS BSNS COMM').
Speaking of tone, we are, after all, an ONTD spin-off community. If you're that uncomfortable with it, sorry, it's probably not going to change.
• If you think someone is making inappropriate/offensive comments about a skater or a member or being an asshole in some other creative way, please leave a comment here and in the meantime, try not to be a bigger asshole than that person is.
• Off-comm drama - We obviously can't control what happens outside of this LiveJournal community. However, do contact us if another member is making personal attacks/harassing you.
Reminder: Sending links to the community to skaters/their friends, family etc. is a ban-able offense.
And a couple of small things, because this came up a few times recently:
• When taking material from other websites/blogs to post them here (this applies mostly to fan material such as personal pictures, videos and accounts), try to figure out what the source is, if it was posted publicly, and whether or not the owner/author has expressed a wish for their stuff not to be shared. When in doubt, asking them doesn't hurt.
• Similarly, if you post something of your own in _skating and that you do not want it to be shared elsewhere (at all, or only with credit/permission), please say so in your post.
