It seems he was in such high spirits during his homecoming in Okayama that these sweet words popped out of his mouth.

At this moment I can't think about four years later.
I would like to gain confidence year by year and work hard to attain the self-belief
TO WIN THE GOLD AT THE NEXT OLYMPICS
[1:23]
I was a bit nervous so I might have said some things I never even thought about. *laughs*
[3:05]
I hope I'll come back here again with a different medal.

OH DAI ADMIT IT THOSE WORDS SLIPPED OUT BECAUSE YOU WERE SO THINKING ABOUT IT :D

INTERVIEW FROM SANYO SHIMBUN (NEWSPAPER ARTICLE) (source)

It's been 5 months from the Olympics. How have you been spending your time recently?

I am working on my new programs for the next season, while skating in various ice shows in Japan.
For my free skate, I visited the U.S. in May and finished working on the foundation of the program.
The music for my short program is a classical piece. I had Stephane Lambiel choreograph for me in Switzerland.

Can you give descriptions for both?

I won't be revealing the details until the skating season begins.
It's because I want people to see my first competition without prejudice.
Both my free and short programs have elements of surprise and are different from my previous ones.
Especially my free program, it's got some
~HARD~ MOVEMENTS
and I'm very pleased with it. I'm looking forward to seeing how it will be evaluated in competition.

I heard you are preparing another short program.

I have asked the ex-world champion of ice dance for choreography. We'll work on the program in the near future.
I will try both programs during the skating season and use the better one for the World Championships.

How do you feel about the new scoring system, which reduces the deduction for underrotated jumps?

Regarding the jumps, it will benefit skaters going for the quad.
I think it will encourage skaters to try out difficult jumps and it will be good thing for the evolution of techinique.
Regarding the spins and steps, it will be more difficult to get level fours with all the added requirements. I will need to work on them.

Before your right knee injury in the fall of 2008, you used to have two quads in your free programs. What are your plans for the next season?

At this moment I'm planning one. I'm keeping the possibility of putting in a
QUAD FLIP.
I'm trying it out in skaing shows.

Tell us your resolutions for the World Champioships.

My goal is to win my second world title, following Torino in March this year.
I'd like to go with the determination to view all the competitions in between as mere passing points.
I would like to learn from each one and set my focus on the biggest game at the end of the season.

My free program is choreographed by Pasquale, who made my previous program La Strada.
For my short program, I wanted to try different choreographers.

One is by Stephane Lambiel. I asked him. It's already finished.
It's got a lot of moves I'm not good at, but I think having those moves will expand my capacities.
First I have to work on the overall movements, how to use my body during the steps, and how to feel the notes of the music too. He feels them in a different way from me.

The other one is by Shae-Lynn Bourne. She has really soft knees and ankles.
She's very good with her lower movements. I'm not good at it so I would like to learn.
And I think her ways of feeling the notes and setting the mood [for the program] are brilliant. She's the kind of artist I truly adore.

Yes, I would like to show a different side of me.

The new season is beginning. I am feeling anxious and excited at the same time, but I would like to do my best so please be cheering for me.

Both youtube videos are from here. Sloppy translations by me.
