HAMILTON, ON. (May 25, 2010) - When Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir competed in the Olympic Winter Games in February, they brought the crowd in Vancouver to a halt with their elegant and near-flawless ice dancing. They brought the home crowd a coveted gold medal, the first for a Canadian ice dancing team.

Now the golden couple is going to be performing in front of Canadian fans again, this time on September 22 at Copps Coliseum in Hamilton, Ont., for a very special evening of entertainment called “Shall We Dance On Ice’’.  The show features numerous Olympic, world and national champions as well as dance stars straight from Broadway, TV, movies and music videos.

Virtue and Moir will be joined by fellow training partners and 2010 Olympic silver medalists Meryl Davis and Charlie White, 2006 Olympic silver medalists Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto, Two-time U.S. National Bronze Medalists Kim Navarro and Brent Bommentre, 2010 British Olympic ice dancers Sinead and John Kerr, Israeli Olympians Alexandra and Roman Zaretsky, U.S. Olympians Emily Samuelson and Evan Bates and five-time U.S. National Champions Naomi Lang and Peter Tchernyshev.

Among the celebrity dancers are Alex Ko, who is currently starring as Billy Elliot on  Broadway in “Billy Elliot The Musical,’’ Cody Green, a Canadian who won the $100K grand prize on Bravo Television’s “Step It Up & Dance” and is starring in Broadway’s dance tribute to Frank Sinatra,  “Come Fly Away’’ opposite  Laurie Kanyok who will also perform in the show, and  Emily Padgett, who is currently playing the role of Sherrie in Broadway’s “Rock of Ages.’’  In addition to these fantastic dancers will be celebrity choreographer Lee Martino, who has staged over one hundred musicals throughout the country earning numerous awards for her work.

In addition, the world renowned vocal quartet The Canadian Tenors will perform a beautiful blend of classical and pop, featuring songs such as The Prayer and Panis Angelicus and Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah. This blockbuster show will be hosted by four-time World Champion figure skater Kurt Browning and World Champion ice dancer Shae-Lynn Bourne, two of Canada’s most recognized skaters. The two Canadian favorites will perform a special dance number to cap off evening’s entertainment.

The show will be taped in front of the live audience in Hamilton and will be broadcast nationally in both the United States (on NBC) and in Canada.
