Fan meetings are a big fucking deal in Asia. Fans gather and prepare so much crap for their celebrity like cakes, presents, etc etc. Usually an emcee is involved to guide the event. There's usually a question & answer time, games involving the audience, cake cutting, singing, sometimes video montages. It looks embarrassing and the celebrity might feel super awkward, but the fans eat it up and go shaking and crying at everything because they're stanheads. Just look up Johnny's fanmmeting last year in Korea. He must have been embarrassed to sing and strike poses, but his fans gobbled it all up like a feast.
