Stars on Ice 2012
Last night yodante, swingopenup and I drove 2 hours from Boston to Portland, Maine to see Stars on Ice. We were mostly excited to see John and Sinead Kerr, and we were NOT disppointed. We were KERRSHOLMED. I had heard that John Zimmerman skates in leather pants and one point, and this was enough encouragement for me to make the trip. Soooo... here's my story and photos :D
I was delighted to see John Zimmerman in the opening group number!
and I was entertained by John Kerr picking up Sasha in her bikini top and swinging her around
Sinead!!
Ekaterina Gordeeva skated Love Will Keep Us Together- she was really cute :)
There were many transitional skits/dances which were very, very humorous. Kurt did an excellent job creating these bits, they were so entertaining!

I MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE TAKEN ABOUT A HUNDRED PHOTOS OF JOHNNYZ

Then Kurt Browning skated to I'm Yours, and he was charming, light on his feet and did loads of triple jumps. However...it made me miss Adam Rippon, you know.
He kept stripping and here he threw his vest in the air:

Sasha's sultry Spanish number- her skills are still terrific
HOWWWW
Ryan Bradley skated Footloose. OK, so Ryan is a charming, fun person and he really hammed up Footloose, but honestly the program did nothing for me. I guess he's just not my kind of skater.
We KNEW the backflip was coming, we knew it! But I didn't time it right sob sob
Yeah- he rolled onto his neck than sprang to his feet. That was sort of impressive.
In a hilarious transition skit Ilia tried to romance Joannie, but she ignored him.
And Joannie skated to a French song- Formidable. She was perfection and I bet she could still compete with any of the ladies.
Then Todd Eldridge skated to "The Waiter's Gallop" and he was this hyper, lighning fast waiter who was serving dinner to John and Kyoko. It was really funny- he pulled out John's chair too far so he fell on his bum

John and Kyoko are unimpressed with their waiter so far
Then John and Sinead Kerr came out (FINALLY!) to perform Muse Exogensis and yodante, swingopenup and I were shaking and crying at their perfection. They cast a spell on the audience!
WE WERE SO WHELMED OMG
The three of us gave the Kerrs a standing ovation.
Ilia Kulik skated to an instrumental version of Who Wants to Live Forever
Then was a group number to Rolling in the Deep after some fancy footwork by Ryan, Kurt and Todd where the sounds of their skate blades was amplified over the speakers. Very cool, especially Kurt was practically tap dancing out there.
I forgot Sinead has a tattoo on her back
John Kerr lifted Sasha and skated down the ice with her!
Then the skaters acted out the story from the movie UP, using the music. Todd is Carl, the "old man" remembering his relation ship with Ellie, his wife:
John and Sinead are young Carl and Ellie
Katia and Ilia are the older Carl and Ellie, when she becomes pregnant at the end
And Joannie and (I think?) Kurt are the elderly Carl and Ellie, but swingopenup was sobbing tears by the end because it ENDED WITH ELLIE HAVING HER HEART ATTACK WHYYYY
Rybrad gets manhandled a bit by Kyoko, but he loves it
then he skates to The Best is Yet to Come
Sarah Hughes was a special guest and she skated to ... some song?
John and Sinead's Pencil Full of Lead was everything I had hoped! Fun, fast, simply entertaining to watch. And I LOVED the costumes!!!

It was so funny when taking their bows: first Sinead showed off her arm muscles...
Then John made a sad face as he showed off his obviously inferior arm muscles!
Joannie came out in a badass black leather catsuit and skated this techno number called Indestructible. WE COULD NOT STOP STARING AT HER AMAZING BODY, NGL
Todd Eldgridge skated Waiting For My Real Life to Begin
And then my FAVORITE program was with Ryan, John Kerr, John Zimmerman and Kurt Browning all wearing white tank tops, black pants, and each had a spotlight which they used as a prop for dramatic lighting while they took turns doing sexy things like spread eagles, leaps, lunges IDEK!!
I started to hyperventilate when John Zimmerman had his turn, and my cheeks flushed and I think I started whimpering because swingopenup was laughing at me. I took tons of photographs, NONE OF WHICH CAME OUT BECAUSE IT WAS SO DARK... but you can get the idea from these:

Then Sasha and her amazing boobs skated to something... I don't remember what because I could not stop staring at her chest, waiting for a costume malfunction
I didn't take photos during the Florence and the Machine finale because I was still recovering from JohnnyZ's spotlight pornography number, but I think it was awesome.
Anyways, the show was SO FUN, I hope Stars on Ice USA doesn't fade away to nothing. It was top notch entertainment. Worth the trip and the money.
