Q: What about Jason felt right?
A: Well ever since I announced that I wasn't working with Brian Orser I have been looking for a new training site and ideally I was looking for one back in the United States. I had tried out in a few places and skated and skated in a few rinks and saw what was out there then finally when I went to Detroit I felt really comfortable and I felt really confident in making a decision that if I went out there I could improve. I think it is a really good choice and I think it's going to be really good.

Q: What are you hoping Jason can help you with?
A: What I'm really looking forward to working with Jason is I know he's a technical person but I'm also looking forward to working with him because I know how well he can get a skater to calm down or get them pumped up. He's really good at working with skaters mentally so I'm really excited to be work with him on that.

Q: You'll be training with Jeremy Abbott...?
A: Of Course...I was reluctant to ask Jason and Yuka about training in Detroit because of them training Jeremy but before I did they talked to Jeremy and he said he'd be OK with it and then they talked with me and I think it's going to be a really good thing but I wanted to make sure with Jeremy first so I sat down with Jeremy and told him where I was coming from. (JEREMY ABBOTT CONTINUES TO BE A WONDERFUL PERSON) I was coming from a good honest place. I was looking for a place where I could train consistently and a place where I could grow and improve. He really understood that and he knows that I'm not like "AHAHA I'm going to take your spot here". So we get along really well and I think it's going to be really good for the both of us.

Q: Worlds...
A: I did watch Worlds. It was hard to watch it and not be at the competition, especially after I had the chance to skate there last season. It was...um...motivating to watch it and know that I can be there and that this summer is going to be really important to my training to make sure I'm in the right shape physically and mentally with the season upcoming.

Q: Quad lutz video?...
A: That's the one I'm working on most seriously. I gave a few interviews over the summer and during the season last year where I was like "Yeah I'm gonna go for a quad toe" and I really wasn't trying to trick anybody like "Haha I'm not really working on a quad toe!" I was working on it- like killing myself. Then all of a sudden the season was over and I was like "Well maybe I might as well start working on another one." I can do the one with 1 hand and I can do it with 2 hands so I figured why don't I try it with normal hands? So I tried it and it felt good and within 2 weeks I started landing them. I'm working on it very seriously and I have it planned in my short program and my long program.

BONUS RUNNING HIS FINGERS THROUGH THOSE CURLS :D

Q: ....Other tricks or arm variations...?
A: I can't really think of anything crazy. I mean I can already do two, I can't like curl a leg up there too! I'm just really working on cleaning up a few of the elements, maybe adding an extra combination into the long program. I'm skating well and even kind of in this transition period I've kept my training as consistent as possible. With also doing the choreograph with Pasquale and Shae Lynn Bourne this week, still skating well and really excited to get really into the summer training when I head to Detroit next week.

Q: Next season what should fans look forward to...?
A: Before the season starts I'm excited that I'm going to be skating- I have 2 new exhibitions: my friend Kate McSwain choreographed one of them and then my other ex is just a piece of my long program from last year. I did it because I love my long program from last year and because I wouldn't have to get a new costume so I could kind of like save and bundle..??(something). My long program with Pasquale- I LOVED working with him- it's kind of a classical program. With Shae Lynn it's folk number so really I have the first 30 seconds done with Shae Lynn. I love working with her, she's incredible, she's probably one of the best skaters that ever skated.

Q: Summer?
A: Right now I'm gonna do one tour during the summer, The Ice in Japan it's a 2 week long tour at the end of July. After that I'll go right to Champs Camp to do the programs then after that the Grand Prix. I'm still waiting to see how many and which Grand Prix I get this season I'm just hopefully that I will be assigned a Grand Prix and that I will skate well.
