We've found each other

I've been the epitome of "fuck real life - post on _skating" for the last two days - so yeah, I'm posting again - I've translated V/T's blog ebtry from the last weekend

Hello, dear readers!
Thank you all for the attention, support and warm words in the comments! The Moscow World championship has ended recently and we share our impression of it, as we promised.
Tanya: We, of course, didn’t even hope for the silver. We thought that maybe we could have the bronze. The result turned out to be a total surprise.

Maxim: The arena’s reaction made us ecstatic! A huge thank you for everybody for supporting us! You can’t even imagine, how many unforgettable moments you’ve given us.

Tanya: The way the tribunes exploded with a roar even before we started the SP - it’s the brightest moment of the championship. And I’ll never forget how we were given a standing ovation after LP! Max told me: “Let’s skate along the boards, say thank you to the people for the support”. We always forgot to make a bow. We didn’t want to exit the ice; we wanted to enjoy the moment as long as possible. We were so pleased that we’d managed to do everything. Big thanks to everybody.

Maxim: We were very nervous before the short. We relaxed a bit only after the throw when we realized that we did all the jumping elements. And before that we were skating a bit stiffly.

Tanya: Before the LP I was very tensed because of the starting number, but then I got into the mood, calmed down and then came to the ice relaxed. Morally it was easier than in the short because it’s especially important not to have any flaws in the SP.

Maxim: Aliona, Robin and their coach Ingo Steuer Ingo Stoer were among the first to congratulate us. It was very nice. We were very happy that it all worked for them. We are even grateful that they were flawless like never before. Because if won the championship from the first time psychologically it’d be very hard for us the next year.

Tanya: Tatiana Tarasova also congratulated us after the skate. I’m not even sure that some words were said. But sometimes you don’t need any words. And all in all it’s good that al the bosses are satisfied . This Friday we were invited to a dinner with Yuri Nagornykh (Russia’s sport minister’s deputy). I’ve been on the World’s podium for the first time. It was indescribably. I felt pure joy and pride for our whole team, that it all worked out so beautifully.

Maxim: But now the euphoria has passed. And it should’ve passed. Everything has worked out., the plan we working according to the whole season worked out, but now we should move on without wasting our time on all the little things.
Tanya: The moral tiredness has stayed. The tension before the start was colossal anyhow. But now we’ve rested for a bit. We’re going to Piter (Petersburg) soon and then to a medical check. Then, maybe, to Tver, and then for a short time I’m going home to Ukraine.

Maxim: Right after the championship we went to the American embassy to apply for visas. We are going to Nikolai Morozov’s team gathering on May the 15. We need to start working on the new programs.

Tanya: And, of course, we need to work very hard before the new season. The case is that we’re together for just a year, so we have only enough elements for one season. We want to make a more difficult throw, to work on the death spiral, to learn some new lifts. We can’t afford to not improve.

Maxim: Also we want to congratulate our whole national team with very decent skates. Primarily - Artur Gachinski with the bronze medal (Max said earlier that being super nervous for Artur took the edge from being over nervous for himself). And Alena Leonova for the fight she put up in the LP.

Tanya: And our dancers did good too. But Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir left an unforgettable impression for me. Their skating is beyond any praise. They both are so talented! Their main secret, I think, is what’s going on on the ice between them. You watch them and can’t tear your eyes off them and it’s interesting to know what’s next every time. It’s magic.
We’re targeting the same effect. We try to skate our programs for each other in the primarily. We always look into each other’s eyes before a skate, try to understand each other, what mood we are in. And there’re a lot of moments during the programs when our eyes lock and its charges, gives strength and inspiration. You can’t explain it, you can only feel it. We’ve finally found each other as partners. I feel comfortable with Max by my side, in the right place.

Maxim: This success brought us even closer with Tanya. We have very trusting relationships. We help each other with different little things, call each other all the time. And the main thing - we want the same thing: to move forward and forward, without looking back, without being distracted with anything.
Meet you soon on our blog’s pages!
