A MORE RECENT INTERVIEW WHERE HE TALKS ABOUT HIS FAVORITE THINGS:

(02/24/2011) - When not skating, showman Chen hits the ivory keys.

At age 11, Nathan Chen is the only skater to ever win back-to-back U.S. novice titles. The diminutive dynamo from Salt Lake City will move up to the U.S. junior ranks for the 2011-12 season, bringing his showmanship and precise triple jump technique with him. He's already been an ABC World News Person of the Week.

"He enjoys attention," says Chen's coach, former Soviet pairs skater Genia Chernyshova.

What's your favorite TV show?
I just like all sorts of science shows and the Disney Channel shows. I like the Food Network Challenges, too.

How about a movie?
I just saw TRON: Legacy and I really liked it.

Book?
Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson series, I like mythology.

Favorite Food?
Seafood, I like any kind of fish.

When you're not skating or studying, what do you like to do?
Play the piano. I take lessons. (Chen also studies ballet and gymnastics).
