I have a question, didn't the ISU create this year a rule saying that one skater could skip 1 GP season without any good reason, but not a 2nd one, or they'd be sanctioned?
Maybe my brain created that rule LOL but I heard something like this
May be it's about skaters who are already appointed for the GP Events? Because it seems that some countries don't take part in the GP but have athletes in the WCs.
ok, I found it from the GP 2011-2012 wikipedia entry:
The spots remaining are filled from the top 75 skaters/teams on the 2010-2011 season's best list. Skaters can not be given a Grand Prix invitation without having been on the season's best list, with the following exceptions: /.../ 3. Skaters and teams who had previously been seeded (1st through 6th at the World Championships) and had missed any number of seasons can be considered for one or two Grand Prix assignments if they committed to competing at two Grand Prix events and had never taken advantage of this rule in a previous season.
She didn't miss the whole season and she is on the season's best list, so skipping GP does not matter, as far as I understand.
