JDubs finds a new partner

A few weeks after announcing she was ending her association with Bryce Davison to concentrate on her solo career, Jessica Dubé has found a new partner to skate pairs with: Sebastian Wolfe.

Dubé revealed this information on Saturday afternoon at the Drummond-Saint-Cyrille FSC show, where she was skating.

"It happened unexpectedly, much sooner than I thought. As we train in the same place (Contrecoeur) and with the same coach for four years now, Sebastien and I were already good friends. Recently, I started training with him for fun, but also not to lose my pairs skatng skills," she said.

Soon, a beautiful partnership has developed between the two skaters, so much so that they couldn't ignore what it pointed towards any longer.

"We surprised our coaches, but first of all we surprised ourselves. We will try to compete together from next season," said Dube, who was involved in another show that evening, in Boisbriand.

Aged 21, Sebastian Wolfe is a native of Montreal. Until recently, the representative of the Skating Club of Rosemont couple skated with Tara Hancherow. The couple won the silver medal for the second consecutive year at the Canadian Junior Championships held in Victoria. In singles, Wolfe had finished eighth in the senior championship in 2010.

For their part, Jessica Dube and Bryce Davison have recently decided not to continue together after a nine-year partnership that saw them go to the Olympics twice and win a bronze medal at the 2008 World Championships. Davison missed all of last season because of a knee injury, prompting Dube to focus on her solo career.
