HERE IN JAPANESE Japanese Federation sat together at a board meeting today, and decided to pursuit postponing the figure skating world championship to September or October. They will make arrangements for venue etc.
ISU will decide by early May whether championships should be cancelled or postponed. According to Japanese Federation, ISU has inquired whether postpone would be possible. In response, Seiko Hashimoto said they strongly desire to hold the postponed championship. However, she said there is no guarantee it will be ok in September or October, referring to accidents at the nuclear power plant.
In addition, Japanese Federation has notified ISU that World Team Trophy scheduled for April, is in similar situation. They will try to postpone this event to autumn also.
