And these are correlated with certain diseases, as well! Neat stuff, I'm definitely going to have to sit down and read this paper.

Interesting. I wonder if it's possible to be of a different enterotype than both of one's parents? I know that my diet and my cravings are nothing like my mother's-- I never wanted as much milk or red meat as she did even before I went vegetarian, and she doesn't do sugary desserts or lentils like I do. I get bloated and weird if I eat even half as much cheese as my dad eats, too. If it were just that we have different gut bacteria, it would make sense-- but how would I get such a different collection?
