ontd_science will be
LJ Spotlighted the week of March 22.
*pauses while everyone hits the deck*
This starts tomorrow, at which time this community will be going on moderated posting: this means all new posts will enter a queue and will have to be approved by
crossfire_,
nrchst, or myself. We will do our best to do this in a timely and efficient manner.
To all new members, welcome! We are a spin-off of
ohnotheydidnt dedicated to geeking out over any and all aspects of science. We welcome news articles regarding scientific discoveries, controversies, and just plain interesting goings on from all branches of science. Please read the
community rules before posting, then feel free to dive right in. The tags list will give you a good idea of what topics we cover.
Important note: posts must include a link to an online SOURCE. Good sources are major news sites, scientific journals, and professional blogs by members of the scientific community (use good judgment on these). Your personal blog or journal does not count. We welcome the addition of your own thoughts after the article contents, but you MUST have a proper source or your entry will be rejected. You can find good example of scientific news sites in our
memories section.
For current members: We realize LJ Spotlight can bring with it many complications. Please report any inappropriate trolling, harassment, comment deletion, or any other shenanigans to the mods and we will deal with it. You may message us or
page a mod. If necessary, we can go to moderated membership as well.
Thank you all for your patience and cooperation. We hope this will be a rewarding spotlight experience that will bring in some fresh, geeky blood and great discussion. Have fun and be welcoming!
