Free Agency Day 4: Well, well, well, Wild

Jul 04, 2012 10:48

Last night, it started coming out that Parise and Suter had both been talking to each other extensively, and both expressed a strong desire to play with one another.

Then, in the middle of the night last night, in came one Brian Lawton, saying that Suter was going to Minnesota, to which one could naturally conclude... Well...

Zach Parise and Ryan Suter will both be playing for the Minnesota Wild until the end of time. Or for 13 years, pick your poison. Identical contracts, both with a cap hit of roughly $7.5 million. That leaves Minnesota with roughly $600 000 $2 million apparently in cap space, but just looking at their page... uh... they seem like they've got most of their shit together.

Gone are the days of the entire NW division collectively pretending the Wild don't exist because playing against them always turns out to be so freaking boring? ... Perhaps, uh, yeah. Congrats Minnesota!

NOW EVERYONE ELSE CAN GET BACK TO DOING STUFF THANKS RYAN AND ZACH IT TOOK YOU LONG ENOUGH WHY DON'T YOU GO GET A HOUSE TOGETHER OR SOMETHING.

(If you're interested in more, you should follow Wild beat writer Michael Russo @Russostrib.)

And then Matt Carle signed with the Lightning for 5 years at $5.5 million. DOMINOES.
