So when people boycott Chick-fil-A, it means I don't get hours. Which means I don’t get money. Not just me, but ALL of the LGBT employees at Chick-fil-A. Yes, CFA hires LGBT people. No one’s been fired for being gay or coming out. It’s a job. A job that can’t be taken for granted when work is scarce across the country. We have to eat too. So sure,

And now to go on a tangent.
I'm not LGBT, but seriously that doesn't give me the no right to decide if my LGBT friends should be able to marry or even be with their significant others. I guess that's moot since I agree with gay marriage. To me it's more than about a religious bond... heck any more it seems most people don't even take the bond too seriously. Marriage is also about rights, benefits, and equality. Why shouldn't the significant other have the right to receive life insurance, death benefits, medical coverage, or a huge host of other rights that are only given to "spouses"?! I think they should. If they want a big crazy wedding and to spend the rest of their life together then it should be their choice... and no one, ever should be able to say boo.
I cheering when California originally passed that law.. then pissed as all heck when it got revoked. Who someone sleeps with/marries/spends their personal time with should matter to NO ONE ELSE. It's their life, and if they're happy be happy for them dang it.
And ignoring marriage NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE should have any right to complain or bitch about who someone else sleeps or spends their lives with... err providing of course they're both consenting adults. If you don't like them as a couple don't look.
I find it sad that the Chick Filet did what they did, or that people should take it as a "lets go support them". To me it just makes them look like douches, and shows just how close minded they are. I wonder how they'd feel if someone took their rights way. Oh sorry you're hetero? NO more marriage for you. Soooorrrry.
I guess it does drum up some business for the place, and that does help employees. Everyone needs a job, and lately it seems like they can be hard to come by. So in an odd way I'm glad that people are keeping their jobs, but it sucks that it's because zealots are coming in and making it a very uncomfortable work environment for some.
All that being said I would never suggest anyone quit their job because their CEO is a douche canoe. I'm sorry you have friends that think you should drop everything and become jobless because of someone elses opinions. I think instead they should suggest keeping the job and look for another one. No need to cut of your nose to spite your face. I have a friend who's been unemployed for 4 months. She's been looking everywhere but never quite gets to the you're hired stage.
okay sorry about the rant, it's a touchy subject for me :P
