Jun Lin's mother has 'sympathy' for alleged killer
In a written eulogy for her son, Jun Lin, Zhigui Du said she has developed sympathy for his alleged killer, Luka Rocco Magnotta, and will set up a foundation to help troubled youth.

Not really, but it sure feels that way for a long, long time.
Her compassion and capacity to forgive are indeed admirable. However, I doubt that her son's killer functions on the same level as the rest of us do. I don't think he has a conscience to speak of, and I'm pretty sure he's totally capable of doing what he did to another person without batting an eye or losing a night's sleep.
