The #10FRISKCOMMANDMENTS
What's going on Folks. It's been a while since I've posted because I suck at remember to post things. But I wanted to share this new project I just finished with the amazing activist and rapper Jasiri X. A few weeks ago I pitched him the idea of taking a Notorious B.I.G. song (10 Crack Commandments) and flipping it to talk about the issue of Stop and Frisk. As much as folks like to pretend its just about "crime" and stopping it--the sad truth is that most people stopped are INNOCENT. On top of that it targets young people of color. There have been marches and talks and all sorts of things talking about it but I wanted to push something into different spaces that would hopefully connect with folks. Jasiri gladly agreed to write the song and I offered to direct, shoot and edit the video and get it out to the masses.
