These people suck. They suck so hard. This is the group of people who always talk bullshit about "jobs, jobs, jobs," and all they think about, ever, is what other people are allowed to do with their private parts, how they can make those people miserable, and how they can force people into being second-class citizens. They can shoehorn that into anything and everything, no matter what it is.

Blech.

The older I get, the more I come to hate religion and what it does to people. Which is sad, because growing up the church was an important part of my life, and the church I was confirmed in is progressive. But stuff like this actively makes me want to avoid religion. So much bigotry comes from selectively interpreting the Bible, and yet it seems like none of the logic ever sticks.

"Liberals may have successfully ended 'don't ask, don't tell,' but they should not be allowed to force members of our military to give up their religious beliefs,"

Uh, what? Forcing people to give up their religious beliefs?

That is such an enormous, blatant red herring that I fully expect this guy to be attacked by B-52-sized Communist seagulls and flown off to the People's Republic of Seagullville in the hopes that he'll regurgitate more of them.

Fuck them.

Of course, if this bill doesn't get passed, the Republicans can then go, "But they denied a pay increase for the troops! See, the Democrats don't care about our men and women oversees!"

I hate politics so much sometimes.

My husband is in the military.
I'd be OK with him not getting a raise if it meant gay people would be treated equally.
Why on earth did they even have to GO THERE? Did some ASSHOLE complain that gay people getting married in the same chapel as they did sullied their sacred marriage? Fuck them. I hope they all burn in hell. I mean that.
