SALT L AKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - A Colorado teen is upset with screeners at Salt Lake City International Airport. The type one diabetic says TSA agents were abrupt, rude and were responsible for breaking her $10,000 insulin pump. A pump she has to have to survive ( Read more... )

Petty dictators that make nothing more secure. They pull aside menstruating women, strip search children and let guns and knives go through.

That story was horrible! But one clarification: if I understood correctly, the woman in question was wearing some kind of washable fabric pantyliner. So it's not clear to me if they go after people with regular maxipads as well. What about those...or urinary incontinence products that resemble maxipads?

I swear, I have not been on an airplane since 1992, and everything I hear about the TSA makes me never want to get on one again.

Yes, she was wearing a gladrags pad, but I have no doubt those scanners can see normal pads as well. So I suppose we're in the hands of the scanner and have to just hope that the one we get realizes that women have periods and that causes a lot of us to have pads in our underwear.
