'Justice For Loitam Richard', a social media campaign seeking justice for a student from Manipur, who died on April 17 after allegedly beaten up by two of his hostel mates in Bangalore, has gone viral with over 1 lakh people joining the campaign.

They should be, not sure why they haven't been so far. Someone from the college is saying that they have been sent home by the college to avoid being questioned.

I dont understand -- what's with the seeming cover-up? Does it all simply boil down to racial bigotry in the region?

Jesus Christ @ the police not even questioning/investigating the last people to have see him alive.

The investigation process has been a mess so far. The local media is not helping by posting several versions of how he died/who witnessed it. It's not certain why the roommates aren't even questioned, and someone from inside the college is saying that they have been sent home by the college.

The part about drug abuse is simply a pathetic campaign to cast doubts on his character. North-eastern people in India have to undergo this every time they're the victim of some crime. Girls who were raped in Delhi in the past few years have been blamed for dressing provocatively or being out (because the north-eastern people wear shorts and camisoles in public -snort-)
