Next up, hyperlinks are infringement too because you're distributing content by showing it to people. And you better not play any of your MP3s or CDs within earshot of someone else who didn't buy the songs too.

To be fair, it was a very shady argument of an author complaining about people linking to stories that she herself had placed on the internet.

It's actually a pretty old argument. I want to say there might actually be case law stating that links aren't copyright infringement, but don't quote me on that. I can't tell if the memory is of a dream or just a period with migraine aura making everything dreamlike.

LOL remember when they tried to say that if you showed a film to more than 5+ people (or something like that), then you were classified as "movie theatre" and had to get the studio's permission to "distribute the film"? They are out of control.

Forgetting about humming or singing that annoying song you heard this morning and don't even know the name of and can't get out of your head. That's copyright infringement.
