if the american military is anything like the canadian one, then the hiring protocols have been seriously 'relaxed' since the war in afganistan began.

i know not 1, but 4 people who were turned down by the caf before 2001 that have since been hired. one of them was told never to come back to a recruiting office, they actually approached him about joining, said that things had changed and now there was a place for him. 2 of the four were turned down for having mulitiple drugs show up in tests and both were eventually kicked out for dealing or doing drugs while on active duty. the last guy is now out on a medical discharge and got a payment of almost a hundred thousand dollars for having mental issues since he came home from afganistan. those of us who knew him before, his issues have gotten much worse, but he had all of them before he went. and its not like they didn't know his issues, because he had been kicked out of the reserves for improper behaver during live fire exersizes in high school.

canada has been scrambling to cover its ass recently, what with the horrible things our military members have been caught doing, and they are 'reapproaching' the hiring process once more, but that doesn't do anything with all the idoits that got hired when they were scrambling for bodies. and those guys with issues that havn't flipped out now have garunteed contracts for careers that are 20 years long. they get shoved from base to base and unit to unit because people can't handle them and they havn't fucked up enough to get court marshaled and discharged. theres a lot more ticking timebombs in uniforms these days.

and um. wow. end rant. i defintily have issues with these issues.

i hope that a lot of innocent soldiers don't die in revenge for this, but i've heard that the retaliation count is already at 6
