Gay-rights groups aren’t among the 168 community organizations invited by the Harper government to nominate Canadians for a prestigious medal marking the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

Among the list, however, is REAL Women of Canada - a conservative women’s group

I think this article is so weird in how it tiptoes around whether or not to call this organization homophobic. I mean, they're obviously a bunch of homophobes. (Or possibly homophones, which is what I typed at first.)

I knew they wanted to make sure gay students aren't safe at school and that women can't make decisions about their bodies but the attack on a woman of colour in a position of power is new to me. Michaëlle Jean doesn't agree with them and was born in Haiti so she isn't a real Canadian. Nice.

I REALLY need to know who made this decision.
