Dominique Strauss-Kahn faces 'prostitution ring' questioning

Dominique Strauss-Kahn is to be questioned next week by police investigating an alleged prostitution ring in northern France, officials say.

Mr Strauss-Kahn has been summoned for questioning on Tuesday and can be held for up to 48 hours without charge.

I know I'm shocked.

That guy is a total asshole.

cool story: my opinion is greatly informed by that of my best friend, who had DSK as a professor. Apparently everyone knew what kind of guy he is, but no one did anything about it.

She was! She's French, and did her undergrad there. Then she came to the US for grad school, which is where we met. :)

I think she did. Obviously the language issue wasn't so much of a problem for her! I guess it depends on what you're used to. I mostly know about how it worked in comparison to our university in the US, because she would often draw comparisons. What really stuck with me was that she couldn't believe how interactive university education is in the US, with the students asking lots of questions and the professors giving us their email addresses and having office hours in case we had questions or wanted to discuss the material further. Apparently in France you just sit there and listen to the professor lecture and that's it.
