Little coverage? How about fatigue in the USA.

We intervened in Libya (I mean, ahem, NATO) and people are still cursing us for it. Not because it was a good cause or a bad cause, but because we intervened.

We are hated (justly) for acting like the world cops, and when we don't act like world cops we are cursed like an evil God. Can you understand why these posts are met with silence from progressive America? If we (and our President) intervene, it's colonialism. If we don't, it's genocide.

Why don't Americans respond to posts about Israel's depredations? Same reason. Most Americans despises the genocide tactics of Israel, but to even say that is an instant flamewar.

Goddamn, I'm tired of this

Oh my god. Poor you. it must be so hard to be this war-mongering World Power. And to be judged by people whose countries live ACTUAL MASSACRES.

Being judged for "intervening" is not actually more important than massacres in a developing world country.

That's a very informed comment, with context compleat. Yes, I am this WORLD MONGERING POWER ..me.

Are you drunk?

Your country. Obviously. You aren't cute or funny. You are dismissing tragedies and deaths. Which is sad and privileged as hell.

Wow. Really?

I'm trying to reach out to your hatred and anger. I'm trying to make a place where you can talk with all your anger. It's okay to be drinking with what's happening in Syria.

I get it, dude.

And that's the price you have to pay for what you did to Iraq, Afghanistan and... the rest of the World. (I'm Latinoamerican, I may know a thing or two). Which is actually pretty tame since USA is never sanctioned for its war (and civil) crimes.

I don't hate or resent you, La vie. I am actually trying to start a conversation with you, yet suddenly I am the focus of your hatred. Why?

What? I don't care about starting a conversation with you. I don't care what you feel for me. And I don't feel anything about you.

You said ignorant shit, dismissing the tragedy happening in Syria, complained your country "receives unfair judgement" while you seem to be pretty ignorant about the massacres, colonialism, and deaths that your country perpetrated/ in third world countries without receiving ANY repercussions, actually, you and the rest of USIAN citizens only receives benefits for all these actions.

So yeah. USA being judged while Syrian people are massacred? Hard excuse that one.

You do realize that you're in a forum that actually cares what you have to say? Nobody here is a dick warmonger. We actually care about what happens in the world, and how America acts in the world, or we wouldn't be here. We are the people who elected Obama. We are the people (look it up) who supported the Arab Spring.

We want to hear what you have to say.

Say it.

We are listening. <3

Dude, they just gave a calm, considered and well-thought-out reply. Read it again. I'm not convinced that's the right person to be taking an attitude with.

They even referred to and agreed with your own comment: "We are hated (justly) for acting like the world cops."

Sometimes it's right for the US to intervene and sometimes it's not, but the US get it wrong a lot and even when they might be getting it right, there are often rather more selfish motives involved which can potentially screw up the good they might have done.

I'm aware of some scepticism regarding the underlying motives and success of the operation in Libya, but I wasn't aware of it being criticised simply for being intervention. Besides, I thought some of the reluctance on the part of the US to intervene in Libya stemmed from Barack Obama wanting not to be seen as a warmonger like his predecessor (i.e. trying to appeal to voters within the US)?
