“Politics have no place in health care,” he said in a statement.

I reread that three times to make sure I read it correctly, since it's so rare to see common sense like this. A politician actually said this? Be still my beating heart!

Ehhhhhh really this is the first awesome thing Bloomberg has done that I remember. His administration of the public school system is horrible and he is really concerned with making new york city a playground for millionaires and to hell with the rest of us.

Yeah, I read further down and changed my mind, but I don't like to delete comments so I left this here. I'm glad he did this good deed though, just a bummer he sucks the rest of the time.

Yeah, I agree after having read further in the thread. I have to admit when I first posted I didn't really know anything about this dude except that he was donating a quarter million dollars to PP. If you keep reading in the comments though you'll see where I posted about taking back my wish for him to run. I just didn't want to delete because I feel that's rude. I mean if we were all sitting around chatting I couldn't go back and erase, I could only say "oh, I realize that was mistaken so I take that thought back."

And now I've written a book, haha. Sorry about that.

Oh DUH! Now I feel like a huge moron. I was just over-thinking it!

To be honest, I had forgotten that deleting was verboten, but I don't like to do it anyway because it feels very dishonest to me. If I change my position because of discussion, I can just say that and not try to change history.

Do not forget! Many of us mods take great glee in banning someone who runs away from negative responses by deleting all their comments, but in the interests of fairness we have only a small number of exceptions for comment deletion (wrong thread, or bad html, both under the assumption that you repost the content where it belonged/with fixed html, etc).

If I ever do something like that, banning is the least of my worries. I'll be more worried about the aliens that have taken over my body and are making me act like that!
