Nothing about clitoral vibes? Not even the awesome siri? I know the article says wands can be used on the clit, but there are also vibrators specific for just that purpose.

Though the idea that an orgasm --> explosion of pleasure is part of why a lot of women orgasm and don't realize that's what's happening. Someone once described it as an involuntary action, like a sneeze, and that's when the lightbulb went off over my head.

Haha, I dunno if they quoted Spears, but the someone I was thinking of was from The Hairpin.

The Nea from Lelo is pretty good too.

I also use the Wahl back massager when I can't sleep, and just need an orgasm, because apparently that helps me sleep. The Wahl is pretty intense and it doesn't take that long.

Just about everything I've bought from Lelo (the Siri, the Mia) has been pretty awesome, but the Siri tops my list of most awesome toy ever made in the history of mankind. So they're the company I tend to point people at, even if they are really pricy.

I bought the Siri for my gf, and I haven't had a chance to try it out yet, since she lives a few states away.

I looooove that Siri. Just as an FYI for anyone who might want one - search on Google's shopping page, I got mine for over $20 less on Amazon.

There's a lot of toys that do similar things with slightly different shapes, too! I think most companies have at least one model now. But the rechargeables like the Siri and Je Joue's MiMi offer some of the best power. Wands are good, but maneuverable, they ain't.

Yeah, for a long time I was masturbating and orgasming and not realizing it...I even remember thinking (at like age 11) "I really hope this isn't an orgasm, because I'm going to be really let down if it is." All of the media seemed to portray it as like being on top of the world, whereas for me it's like - mildly pleasurable, but not explosive. It's moderately pleasurable when I'm using a toy or if my partner is stimulating me, but it's still never felt like an erupting volcano or anything.

For a while I thought that twitchy, fluttery feeling meant things were just starting to get good, not the end result (because the end was supposed to make me feel happy and sated). So I'd give myself a break because I was too sensitive and go at it again, then wonder why it was taking me two hours to orgasm. I'd give up trying because I'm asexual so I guess it's not that surprising I can't orgasm. Many women can't!

Imagine my face when I realized I'd been going for multiples. I was surprised and then really let down. Thanks, media, I thought this experience was supposed to rock my world.

At the risk of sounding dumb..

The 'twitchy, fluttery feeling'...is an orgasm???

It's not dumb! And the answer is: it depends. Depends on what muscles are fluttering and depends on how you orgasm since each one is different and everyone experiences them differently. But... it really is an involuntary muscle spasm of the vaginal muscles at the very least, so you'll feel those start twitching a few times (it feels a bit like a fist closing IME).

It wasn't nearly as intense as I'd been lead to believe, but it's a fairly distinct feeling once you know what it is.
