Oh wow. I enjoyed watching that immensely. I'm sure Muslim-hating folks are going to still condemn them, but fuck those people.

“Honestly, I just want to thank this Florida Family Association for doing this,” Nawal said, “because I think what they were trying to do has totally backfired big-time.” Yes \o/

I wish people would understand that nationality has nothing to do with religion. Those people claiming that they are "true american" are just true idiots.

However I fear that some extremist group either muslim extremist or christian extremist might target the cast. I think they're really brave.

I just can't wrap my head around the notion that people in favor of family! morals! christianity! *a religion of love and peace, these fools assert, will also at the same time throw a mega butthurt that a show isn't reinforcing stereotypes of their choosing.

( but then I still picture the FFA as two angry men in a garage with a cat, spamming the advertisers.)

Regarding your last comment, ever since Kathy Griffin said she dug in to The Catholic League after it went after her and discovered it was one dude with a computer, I sort of assume these stupid groups are all similar.

Won't someone please think of the cat?!

It would have to be that these are small vocal groups or people, because otherwise, the claims of membership would be confusing. You'd need a daytimer or some complex app to track all your protest "family" groups. The horrible faux pas of submitting the wrong form to the wrong agency ( god gets irate at messed up paperwork.)

No self-respecting cat would be part of a fundie group. Teddy cat is very sad you made this claim.

But yay! for people pushing back on this. Its time to stop letting these groups control the dialogue.

Nawal added, “Pamela Geller is upset with the fact I’m exactly like her, that I’m a working woman like her. That’s what she’s upset about.”

DING DING DING DING DING.

This is awesome! :D

OT but on the show I seriously thought her name was Noelle because every time her husband pronounced her name it sounded like that.

I loved the clip Jon Stewart used when this came up on the TDS, it showed how unbelievably ordinary they were.
